Description of the printer and principle of operation.

1. Indicators of application.

The module must have the following characteristics:

1.1 Color printing technology - inkjet DoD with UV curing;

1.2 Color mode - multi-pass CMYK (two two-color heads Ricoh MH5220, 2.5pl);

1.3 The size of color printing - in accordance with the size of the picture/text (based on the size of the head, you can provide a print mode PW !!!)

1.4 Maximum resolution of color printing up to 1200 dpi;

1.5 The time required to complete one conveyor cycle is 15-20 seconds. (it is possible and a little more, you need to choose - the optimal solution will probably depend on the difference in the price of the heads for fast and slow printing or on the print resolution)

2. Estimated principle of operation (specified before the start of development):

Option 1: The card moves along the conveyor path of the personalization system (it means the color printer is a superstructure above the conveyor), is installed with the necessary accuracy under the print heads (ideally, 10 microns on the fast axis and 1 micron on the slow, it is necessary to clarify the price/quality ratio for such a system and possible increase tolerances), the system gives the signal to print to the printer. The printer independently moves the print heads and the curing system in all necessary directions, while the card is stationary. After printing is completed, the printer signals the end and the conveyor moves the card ahead.

In option 1, it will be necessary to provide movement of the printing node, at least along two axes X (fast axis), Y (slow axis). This will lead to an increase in the size of the solution and the appearance of an oscillatory process with relatively large masses, of the order of 3–5 kg. Nominal speed 1m / s, acceleration 3-6m / s2.

Option 2: The card is removed from the conveyor path of the personalization system and placed on a specially designed reciprocating system that allows you to move the card under the fixed print heads and the curing system at the required speed (1-0.1 m / s). Then, after printing is finished, the card returns to the main conveyor. In this case, it is necessary to clarify: who controls this system for

moving the card during printing, and if we develop this system, then we need all the information about its performance characteristics (speed, accuracy, feedback, interaction protocol, etc.).

As in option 1, we can provide all the necessary movements. The main thing is to understand how we can capture and hold the card.

2. Ink curing method for UV variant:

- using an external UV LED system with water cooling.

The Ink Supply and Printhead Cleaning System:

1. The ink supply method is automatic, from the main tank to a subtank, located in close proximity to the print head on the print module.

2. The system provides automatic control of the meniscus.

3. The ink supply system provides ink supply and head cleaning using positive pressure.

4. Provides automatic filling of the print head after replacement.

5. Semi-automatic recovery of the print head after a technological break

The Size of the Print Area is Determined by the Width of the Print Area of the Head (54,1 mm):

Y-axis

1. The Y-axis is the axis for mounting and moving the print module perpendicular to the direction of movement of the material. The Y axis is located on the fixed portal / base of the equipment. Requires coordination with the customer.

2. The Z-axis serves to provide the working gap of the

material and the working surface of the printhead. Requires coordination with the customer.

X-axis

1. The X-axis is the axis for moving material.

2. The customer provides a signal to start printing (trigger). Sensor type requires matching.

3. The customer provides the signal of the material position in the form of a quadrature encoder output. Sensor type requires matching. Customer agreement required

Z-axis

1. Z-axis is the axis for mounting and moving printheads in height. Serves to provide the working gap m / s material and the working surface of the print head

2. The Z-axis travel is determined by the requirements for the size of the material for printing and the system for cleaning and parking the heads. Customer agreement required

Software and Printer Interface Includes:

1. The program for receiving binary files organized according to the description of the file header provided to the customer by the contractor and the further formation of tasks for sending files directly to the printer

2. Interface to the settings of the printer engineering level

3. Interface to the printer settings user level
